As I have asked Davao del Sur Governor Douglas Cagas, during the 42nd Araw ng Davao del Sur, he made his formal announcement that the anticipated bridge that links General Santos-Digos City-Davao City national highways, is set for its completion on July 30.
Commuters in the province have long been complaining due to delayed target completion of the bridge, after it took three years for the Department of Public Works and Highways to come to an end of construction
Residents in the province were also promised that the project would end supposedly last February.
Unfortunately, some of the bridge structure has been destroyed and carried by the flash flood that affects the town during the said month.
However, Governor Cagas, who also said he becomes bored on the repeated promises of the DPWH, said the project will finally set off on the next targeted date.
Almost a year ago when local officials in the province of Davao del Sur promised the fastest way of constructing this bridge that link the Digos City-General Santos highway. Until now the construction was still going on. Residents of Leling, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur complained their delayed travel time as they need to use the town’s interior way, which took them 15 minutes to reach the opposite road.
